The following is a message regarding the event and fighter participation.
Greetings MMA Community,
Please let me introduce myself. My name is Jeff Reese, a resident of Scranton, Pennsylvania. I am a Gracie Jiu Jitsu brown belt and mixed martial artist.
Now that MMA has earned approval in Pennsylvania, Northeast Boxing and MMA (a Pennsylvania licensed promotion) is finalizing plans for the first mixed martial arts event to be held in Scranton. Over the years Northeast Boxing and MMA has been responsible for several televised ESPN boxing events held in Scranton. Their first MMA event is scheduled for June 12th, 2009 at the Ice Box Arena. Due in part to my experience over the past decade with the Gracie family and mma coach Northeast Boxing and MMA has asked me to act as match maker for this event.
I am currently seeking reputable schools and fighters that would like to be involved in this mixed martial arts event. I am working hard at finding entry level and intermediate experienced amateur competitors to compete in what is expected to be a well run, first classed, and organized event. While I can not promise every fighter interested in competing a guaranteed fight I do promise to work hard to provide the most exciting matches possible.
