Martial Arts May Be The Weight-Loss Golden Ticket
This month at Pennsylvania Combat Sports in Greensburg, we've had some really great training going on and during one recent session I couldn't help but notice how much weight one of our students had lost in just a short period of time. Check out the video interview with Justin as he shared what's happened to him over the past 6 weeks (video was shot on July 7th)...and where he plans on going with his weight loss goals.
Now when it comes to life there are certain things we just can't avoid (and no I'm not talking about ice cream from DQ). We all know the adage about "Death and Taxes"...well theres something else that goes right in there as well, and thats responsibilities.
Whether it be to a demanding job, a busy family life, or to educational pursuits - few people are not engaged in one or all of these things. With these responsibilities we can easily get sidetracked from proper eating habits (whats typically fast and convenient isn't generally the best for our diet, right?) due to the high tempo of daily life.
Before you know it, time goes by and some added weight comes along with it. Combine that with a natural decrease in your metabolism and it can become even more compounded. At some point most people decide that enough is enough, a change is necessary and they're ready to MAKE time to get into shape. Justin definitely came to the same decision and is on the road to making the changes he wants to see happen.
Once You Say "Enough!"...What Are Your Weight Loss Options?
The great news is that Martial Arts Training like Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, MMA and Kickboxing are all awesome ways to reach your personal fitness and weight loss goals. Unlike hitting the treadmill or elliptical (human hamster wheels are just Lame!) where your not learning anything and in most cases bored senseless...Martial arts gives you a skill set that can actually benefit you in all other areas of your life.
Knowing how to defend and protect yourself or a loved one, brings a sense of confidence that can not be bought or gained in any other way. Being able to take it a step further and apply what you've learned in a competitive setting is another huge accomplishment which brings with it many positive benefits to a persons life.
We look forward to seeing Justin's progress, both with his weight loss goals and with his future competitive endeavors in Martial Arts. Its pretty motivating to hear stories like this coming from the folks who train with us...expect to see some more success stories posted in the very near future!
